Job description

Why Sakura?
When it comes to diagnosing cancer, there’s no time to waste.
At Sakura, we believe every patient deserves the fastest, most accurate diagnosis possible. That’s why we develop high-quality, fully automated solutions for anatomic pathology. We help labs and hospitals worldwide work faster, more precisely and with greater confidence.

Our mission is simple but powerful: advancing cancer diagnostics. It's what drives us, unites us and gives meaning to our work every single day.

What we do
We empower pathology professionals with integrated systems that streamline cancer diagnostics. From biopsy to diagnosis, we help reduce turnaround times and improve diagnostic accuracy so treatment can start sooner. Our work impacts real lives, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Job requirements

The opportunity
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be the face of Sakura in your region, supporting labs and hospitals in and around Leeds and the M62 corridor, including Manchester and Liverpool. You’ll manage installation, training, service and technical support for our equipment. You’ll work independently, but always with the support of a UK team of nine experienced engineers.

When you’re off, your team has you covered. And when one of them is away, we count on you. That’s why we ask for flexibility, including the occasional overnight stay, typically around once a month, if the work requires it.

In your first year, you’ll attend six one-week training sessions at our Sakura Academy in the Netherlands. These sessions will give you a strong foundation and all the tools you need to succeed and grow in your role.

We perfectly match if you...

have
• Over 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer
• A secondary vocational education or higher education with technical specialization
• A relevant technical support qualification, ideally in medical diagnostic instrumentation
• Proficiency in the use of computers and office software

and you
• Live in the Leeds region (M62 area)
• Have good command of English, both spoken and written
• Have strong presentation and communication skills for training and advisory work
• Are customer-oriented, approachable and professional at every level
• Work in a self-organised, structured and independent way
• Have a pragmatic, can-do mindset
• Hold a valid UK driver’s license

We offer you

• An attractive salary package, including a performance-based bonus and additional benefits
• A company car
• A laptop and mobile phone
And just as important: a role where you have full ownership of your work, genuine responsibility and real recognition for your impact.
