The opportunity:

As a General Ledger Accountant at Sakura Finetek Europe, you will be responsible for the overall management of the general ledger of Sakura Finetek Europe BV. Your expertise will be particularly valued in inventory accounting and treasury, and your adaptability will be crucial as you will also handle intercompany reconciliations.

Your diligent work is essential to maintaining the fiscal health and compliance of Sakura Finetek Europe, thereby supporting strategic decision-making and organizational planning.

You report directly to the Sr. Team Lead Financial Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive balance sheets, income statements, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations with precision and accuracy.
  • Lead designated financial statement activities, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of the financial statement document.
  • Implement and develop internal control activities to safeguard financial integrity and assets, proactively identifying and advising the Finance.
  • Reconcile monthly payroll records with payroll department input, performing thorough analytical reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the timely submission of tax and statistical returns, including VAT, CIT and Intrastat, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle treasury functions such as cash management, liquidity planning and optimization of financial resources to support operational needs.
  • Regularly review accounting records, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies in consultation with management to maintain data accuracy.
  • Oversee inventory management and fixed asset accounting processes to ensure proper recording, valuation and tracking in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Drive the internal monthly reporting process, implementing robust controls to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Ensure monthly controls over the expense reporting system, verifying compliance with policies and accurate reflection of expenses in financial records.
  • Manage the intercompany reconciliation and billing process, fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders to effectively resolve discrepancies.
  • Manager on opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as a collaborative partner to internal and external business stakeholders, providing financial expertise and support to achieve mutual goals.
  • Assist with various ad hoc tasks and upcoming projects, leveraging financial expertise to contribute to organizational goals.
  • Drive the achievement of personal and team goals established at the outset of the position.

Job requirements

We perfectly match if you have

  • +5years experience in a similar role.
  • strong understanding of financial accounting principles and tax regulations, with a proven track record.
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • experience with financial reporting software & ERP systems. Oracle & Smart View are a plus.
  • excellent organizational skills, commitment to continuous learning, and willingness to serve as back-up for team members performing P2P and banking functions.
  • have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in financial accounting.
  • have an excellent command of English, both written & spoken. 
  • are self-organised and structured.
