About Sakura

Sakura Finetek is a global leader in histopathology and cancer diagnostics. Our solutions are used in laboratories and hospitals around the world to improve the accuracy and speed of cancer diagnoses. With headquarters in Japan, a strong European hub in the Netherlands, and a growing international team, we combine precision with purpose to shape the future of diagnostics.

At Sakura, we are committed to innovation, quality, and teamwork. We value people who think ahead, act with integrity, and embrace collaboration across borders and disciplines. Our work impacts lives — and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Purpose of the role

As Manager Product Marketing, you lead our product and service portfolio strategy with a sharp commercial eye and a deep understanding of customer needs. You are responsible for driving revenue growth and customer value by overseeing the full lifecycle of our offering — from development and launch to market positioning and performance optimization.

You manage a team of Product Managers, guiding them in strategic planning and daily execution. You collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing Communications, regional teams, and global stakeholders to ensure alignment and impact. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategy, execution, and people management.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the Product Marketing team, creating a high-performing and collaborative team culture

  • Ensure efficient daily operations and clear roles, goals, and motivation within the department

  • Drive the creation and execution of the annual Marketing Action Plan in alignment with company strategy

  • Engage with the market directly to understand customer needs and translate them into value-based propositions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing Communications, R&D, and regional leadership

  • Develop and implement market-specific customer value propositions (CVPs)

  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and present actionable insights to senior leadership

  • Enable Sales teams through effective tools, training, and materials

  • Define competitive pricing strategies and oversee gross margin improvement

  • Work with regional teams to develop localized go-to-market strategies

  • Manage budget planning and forecasting activities

  • Represent Sakura in global improvement initiatives, including collaborations with SFA and SFJ on brand-level topics

Job requirements

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or sales, including at least 2 years in a leadership role

  • Demonstrated success in managing international product and/or service portfolios

  • Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or diagnostic workflows (experience with pathology is a strong plus)

  • Proven ability to commercialise new offerings and drive adoption

  • Understanding of industry regulations (e.g. IVDR) is preferred

Key skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and commercial awareness

  • Skilled people manager who builds strong teams and drives performance

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and align global stakeholders

  • Fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage)

  • Technically proficient with tools such as Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms

  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities

  • Results-driven and resilient under pressure

  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and competing priorities

What we offer

  • A high-impact leadership role within an international and purpose-driven organisation

  • The opportunity to shape global marketing strategy and lead innovation in diagnostic solutions
